Time To Clean Your Gutters – Home Improvement

With the leaves starting to fall, you’ll want to make sure they don’t clog your gutters.  Clogged gutters can cause water to cascade over the side, possibly leading to a leaking roof, rotted fascia and soffit, and eroded landscaping.  If you’re comfortable getting up on a ladder, it’s pretty easy to clean the gutters yourself.  Use gloves, and scoop out all the leaves, debris and mud, then use your hose to rinse them clean, pushing any leftover residue to the downspouts.  You can also use your hose to flush the downspouts.  While you’re up there, make sure the gutters are secure against the house and replace any missing gutter spikes.  Gutter guards can help keep the debris from piling up, but you’ll still need to check your gutters occasionally since the guards don’t filter out everything.  If you need any more advice, give us a call here at Blass Residential Services.
