Protect Your Flowers From Snow – Landscaping & Lawn Care

With the unusually warm, wet weather we’ve been having, you might be seeing flowers poking their heads up out of the ground. When the inevitable snow returns, you’ll need to protect the floweres from the freezing temperatures. The easiest way to do this is put a sheet over them. If you’re already seeing some fragile stems, use a stick to tent the sheet over the flowers to prevent breaking them. If a heavy snow is predicted, put a bucket over the sheet to prevent the flowers from being crushed. If the only green you’re seeing at this point is from daffodils & crocuses, you probably don’t have to worry about them. Flowers that grow from bulbs are remarkably resilient and should survive the rest of the winter without protection. Have more questions? Give us a call here at Blass Residential Services.
