Time To Fertilize Your Lawn – Landscaping & Lawn Care

To have a healthy, great looking lawn, Blass Residential Services recommends that you fertilize late in the fall. Choose a fertilizer with a high ratio of nitrogen and potassium (N&K) for strong roots, cold hardiness and resistance to disease. Fertilizing in the fall helps your grass recover from the heat and drought of summer and lets it store carbohydrates so it’ll be more resistant to winter injury and have a source of energy in the spring. So when exactly should you apply the fertilizer? After you’ve stopped mowing, but before the ground freezes. So be watching the weather over the next few weeks for just the right time. Have questions? Call our landscape experts here at Blass Residential Services. We’d be glad to help.
