Time to Replace Your Roof?

It was a long, hard winter. Did your roof come through it unscathed? This is a good time to check your roof and make sure it’s in good condition.
Of course, if you can see sunlight through your ceiling and you have buckets around the house catching the drips, it’s definitely time to replace your roof!
But not all signs of a deteriorating roof are that obvious. Asphalt shingles naturally deteriorate over time. Depending on the type of shingle used, a typical roof lasts 15-30 years. Here are some signs that it’s time to replace your roof:
-The granules on the shingles are disappearing
-The shingles are loose, or some are even missing
-Shingles are curling up at the edges
-There is excessive staining
-Go up into your attic and see if there are any water spots on the framework of your roof that haven’t resulted in leaks inside the house…yet.
Since houses in many neighborhoods are built at the same time, if all your neighbors have replaced their roofs and you haven’t, it’s probably time to do so.
Roof replacement is best left to a professional. After all, your home is one of the biggest investments you’ll ever make and the roof helps protect it, so you want it replaced by someone with experience.
